The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 164 plans to hold an industry expo on May 8 for skilled workers, contractors and related professionals in the metropolitan area.
The free event will be held at Local 164's training academy in Paramus and will include workshops demonstrating technologies in use at some of New Jersey's construction projects. The co-sponsor is Graybar, a Fortune 500 company that distributes electrical and communication equipment.
"This event has been designed as an intensive, hands-on opportunity for attendees to engage in one-on-one learning and discussions with manufacturers," said John DeBouter, Local 164's training director and president.
Local 164 has more than 3,900 members, including electricians in Bergen, Hudson and Essex counties and telecommunications technicians contracted throughout the state.
